OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says an apparent medical issue caused a Chicago man to lose control of his sport utlities vehicle and crash into a house near the Bella Vista Golf Course Monday afternoon.
Undersheriff Keith Eichler says 51-year-old Keith Feret’s vehicle drove into the utility area of the home at 560 Wedge Court, which is near Quimby Road, at about 1:00 p.m..
The vehicle hit and severed a gas line. Feret was said to be incoherent and had to be rescued from his vehicle by neighbors and construction workers who were in the neighborhood. No one was home at the time of the accident. Feret reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Deputies were assisted by Life Care Ambulance, Lakeland firefighters, Michigan Gas Utilities, and Consumers Energy crews.
