COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater teenager was sentenced to a prison term of between 23 months and five years Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after entering a no contest plea to a charge of attempted third degree criminal sexual conduct involving a girl who was 13 years old at the time.
18-year-old Zachary James Taylor was given credit for 183 days served in the Branch County Jail but he will have to register as a sex offender with the State of Michigan.
In exchange for his plea, a second count of third degree C.S.C. was dropped by the Branch County Prosecutor’s Office.
Taylor was arrested last November following a Michigan State Police investigation.
