COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners Tuesday formally approved a request from 911 Central Dispatch Director Kurt Spaulding to fill a vacant dispatcher position and to eventually hire an additional dispatcher.
Spaulding requested an additional dispatcher to help relieve some of the current overtime because of staffing issues. The additional dispatcher would also help with increased calls once the new radio system is in place.
There is money in the 911 budget to cover the position.
Both of the dispatch positions would have a starting wage of $14.23 with new hire benefits.
The additional dispatcher would be hired after any current vacancies are filled.
