COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Historic District Commission approved the awarding of a Certificate of Appropriateness to D.M.V. Properties for improvements at 41, 47 and 53 West Chicago at their meeting Wednesday night.
D.M.V. Properties wants to replace non-original windows and facades at 41 and 47 West Chicago with plans to open the third floor windows once again. Both buildings were constructed in 1865.
They also plan install sign board and signage to match what currently exists at 53 West Chicago which is currently occupied by Pure Envee. The applicant also wants to paint the facade to match 53 West Chicago in color scheme.
City Planner Dean Walrack said his staff recommended the approval of the petition because the building as a finished product will more nearly align with the original unified nature of the building as well as the original architectural design of the windows.
