COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Unlike parts of the uppper Midwest that are getting hammered with blizzard coditons, it will be warmer but windy around the Branch County area Thursday.
While tempetures are expected in the upper 50’s in the Coldwater area, late day temperatures are expected to surge into the 70’s in some parts of northern Indiana.
A strong cold front will then bring showers and chances for thunderstorms later this evening through Friday morning. There is a low risk for severe thunderstorms west of I-69 later this evening into the early overnight, with damaging winds and locally heavy rain the primary threats.
A major spring storm will continue heavy snow and blizzard conditions from the Dakotas to Minnesota Thursday into Friday. Further south, destructive winds, blowing dust, and critical fire weather continues for the Southern Plains. Severe thunderstorms will threaten eastern Illinois and western Indiana Thursday.
