Jake was born on February 19, 1996 in Battle Creek, MI to David and Cindy (Plushnik) Wieas. He grew up participating in 4-H, where he showed horses and cattle. He was top junior draft horse showman in Michigan for five years straight prior to the age of 16. Jake graduated from Tekonsha High School in 2015 and was employed by B & G Farms in Climax and Morgan-Olsen in Sturgis before going to work for Horton Farms of Tekonsha. Jake was an animal lover. He liked working horses and his yellow lab, Lucas, was his constant companion.
Friends were important to Jake. They shared many fun times and gave him the nickname, “Jake from State Farm.” Jake enjoyed kicking back, shooting pool, going muddin’ and sharing bonfires with them. He liked the outdoors, hunting, fishing and kayaking. He was mechanically-inclined and was always tinkering on trucks and old tractors. He had the gift of gab and everyone knew him. Jake was always up to something and brought along fun wherever he went.
Left to share stories of Jake’s many adventures are his parents, David & Cindy Wieas of Homer; his brother, John Wieas of Homer; his girlfriend, Sierra Goodson of Tekonsha; his grandparents, Helen Wieas of Ceresco and Thomas Pharr of Battle Creek; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his special friends, Mallory and Nicole Ray of Tekonsha, Stacey Bloom of Battle Creek, Brad and Kim Ray of Tekonsha; Rebekah, Matt, Avery and Kassandra Hoover of Tekonsha; Samantha Kevwitch of Quincy and Logan Churchill of Tekonsha.
