COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Students in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Program at the Branch Area Careers Center had some success recently during statewide competitions.
Program Manager Kristen Dogan says eight students most recently competed at Skills USA in Grand Rapids.
Two state winners were Haley Robison, who is the defending Michigan Skills USA Restaurant Service champion, and Ashlyn Findley, who earned a bronze medal.
They also had 23 students take part in the Pro Start team competition which is offered through the Michigan Restaurant Association. Three teams from the Branch County program managed to place.
The students will get a chance to show off their cooking skills during their Culinary Arts Global Showcase fundraiser on May 9th.
