COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man who was injured last Friday when a fire destroyed his Seeley Street home is out of the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Jeremiah Witbeck suffered severe smoke inhalation, burns and cuts on his body. He was the only person in his home at 156 Seeley when it caught on fire at about 3:20 p.m last Friday. His wife Brittany and four year old son were not home when the fire broke out.
The family lost everything in the fire which caused nearly $220,000 worth of damage.
Coldwater Fire Marshall Steve Trall said their investigation could not find a cause for the fire.
A GoFundMe page was set up last weekend by Witbeck’s sister Kristina to help with his expenses. She has set a $10,000 fundraising goal.
