TOLEDO, MI (WTVB) – ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital presented the Coldwater High School’s gymnastics team with the Junior Philanthropist of the Year Award at the annual ProMedica Philanthropy Awards last Thursday at the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel.
The award is given annually to a student or group of students who selflessly raised funds and/or volunteered to help improve the health and well-being of others by inspiring their community to be generous and make a positive impact on someone’s life.
Led by Coach Kim Nichols, the Coldwater High School gymnastics team has facilitated an invitational and fundraising event since 2010 called “Stick-it for a Cure” that has raised $80,000 for the ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital’s Community Cancer Center.
The event has drawn teams from northern Indiana, northwest Ohio and from as far as away as the Upper Peninsula.
