COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school softball, Coldwater’s rally in the first game of their doubleheader Tuesday fell short as they lost to Battle Creek Pennfield 15-14. Mallory Kissinger drove in five runs for the Cardinals.
Coldwater won a shortened second game 12-10 which was called by darkness in the middle of the fourth. Lily Gimenez had three hits and four RBI’s for Coldwater. Autumn Sunderland and Alyssa Bach both had two hits.
Quincy swept a Big 8 Conference doubleheader from Reading by scores of 15-2 and 17-0. Rylei Sunday drove in three runs for the Orioles in the opener as Kelsey Mainstone was the winning pitcher. Mick Signor had three hits and six RBI’s in the second game. Morgan Michael was the winning pitcher as she struck out six.
Union City took a Big 8 Conference twin bill from Jonesville by scores of 7-6 and 16-10. The Chargers rallied for two in the sixth and a run in the last of the seventh to win the opener. Autumn Carpenter drove in two runs while Quinnlyn Adams was the winning pitcher.
The Chargers scored eight runs in the third inning of the nightcap as they built a 13-0 lead. Carpenter and Adams both drove in four runs. Adams struck out six Comets as she once again earned the win in the circle.
Bronson swept a Big 8 Conference doubleheader from Concord 19-4 and 15-6. Karissa Gest homered in the first game. Scyler Cary had five hits in the doubleheader. Dakota Smith and Aubrey Ballou were the winning pitchers.
