UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Two Detroit area men were arrested on numerous charged Tuesday by Union City Police during a fraud investigation.
Police say Officer Tony Reyna was dispatched to Ed’s Auto on a report of an attempted fraud. Two men fled the business and Reyna located them at Broadway and M-60 in a U-Haul vehicle.
The driver, Derrick Farrow of Detroit, was found to be without a valid drivers license. He also had multiple warrants for his arrest. Police add he allegedly gave a false identification to Reyna.
The passenger, Joseph Chebli of Dearborn, is said to have also provided false identification and was allegedly found to be in possession of suspected heroin. He also had multiple warrants for his arrest.
The U-Haul is being investigated as being stolen. Both men were lodged at the Branch County Jail. Michigan State Police assisted Union City Police.
