ALGANSEE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Branch County caught a big break Wednesday when the rain that was in the forecast did not show up.
The soggy weather of recent days has led to a lot of high water problems in the area.
The Branch County Road Commission says Kelley Road between Lester and Brown Roads is closed along with Lester Road between Kelley and Phillips Roads.
High water has also been reported on several other roads and while they are not closed, drivers are urged to use caution.
Those roads are Central between Behnke and Smith Roads, Brown between Hammond and Fremont Roads, Wolf between Phillip and Potter and Kelley Road in the area of Southern and State Roads.
Meanwhile, the Flood Warning for the Saint Joseph River at Three Rivers is in effect until Tuesday evening. Minor flooding is forecast.
At 9:00 p.m.Wednesday, the stage was 6.2 feet and rising. The river is expected to rise above its seven foot flood stage Friday afternoon and crest near 7.2 feet around 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon. It is then expected to fall below flood stage Monday night.
