COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Mayor Tom Kramer said during Monday night’s City Planning Commission meeting that various members of the Planning Commission are frustrated with some of the ordinances, processes, rules and policies that have developed over the years.
With that in mind, Kramer said two planning commission consulting firms were interviewed and one has been contracted to hear their concerns and offer opinions on what works in other communities sometime in July.
City Planner Dean Walrack said they talked with Giffels Webster of Detroit and CIB Consultants of Fenton.
The name of the chosen consulting firm was not revealed during Monday’s meeting.
Kramer asked Planning Commission members to consider over the next couple of months what issues they see as frustrating or what can be modified.
After getting their feedback, the firm will come back to the Planning Commission with options that will be discussed and acted upon during a later Planning Commission meeting. Those changes, if any, would also need City Council approval.
