BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson City Council approved a new three year contract with the local Police Officers Association of Michigan union Monday night. The current agreement expires at the end of June 2019.
City Manager Brandon Mersman says the staff has been negotiating with the union over the last few months. He says the agreement includes a 2 1/2 percent wage increase when the new deal starts on July first as well as a wage reopener in the second and third years of the contract.
In other business during a rather routine 15 minute meeting, the Council approved a purchase agreement which authorizes the sale of property at the corner of Rudd and Ruggles to Ray and Julia Skaggs of Skaggs Assisted Living. The sale of the property is contingent upon site plan approval from the Bronson Planning Commission.
