ROSEMONT, IL (WTVB) – This past weekend the National Association of Quiz Teams (NAQT) held their annual Middle School Quiz Bowl Nationals in Rosemont, Illinois. just outside of Chicago, featuring 176 teams and 919 individual players.
The team from St. Charles Borromeo Middle School in Coldwater qualified with a second place finish at the tournament held in Holt, Michigan earlier this year. They finished the first day of the national competition with a record of 2-6, coming up short of qualifying for the championship round Sunday.
The team was able to also meet players from another school with the same name, which came from the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. The two teams from the St. Charles Borromeo Middle Schools also traded team shirts as a token of friendship between the two Catholic Schools.
