COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools Superintendent Terry Boguth told the district’s Board of Education Monday night that the district is no longer accepting applications for the principals job at Max Larson Elementary School and that interviews are scheduled to start June 4.
Boguth said they will talk with Max Larson teachers and support staff this Friday to get an idea what kind of traits they want in the next building principal.
Whoever is selected will take over for Shawn Caldwell who is leaving the district at the end of June after serving as the Max Larson Principal for the past two years.
Boguth also announced the district will use about $7,400 in excess money from the school lunch fund so that students who qualify for reduced lunch prices will get lunch for free next year.
As mandated by federal regulations, the board approved a five cent increase in meals for the next school year, but Boguth pointed out the district prices are still below the USDA’s recommended price of three dollars per lunch.
The Board also approved the district’s 2019-2020 Athletic Parent Student Handbook, and they approved one year extensions on all administrative contracts, which in most cases is done on a yearly basis.
