COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school baseball, the Coldwater Cardinals wrapped up the Interstate 8 Conference portion of their schedule Tuesday by splitting a doubleheader with Harper Creek.
The Cardinals won the opener 10-2 but the Beavers took the nightcap 11-0. Coldwater used a five-run second to win the opener. Austin Santure had three hits and three RBI’s while Bryce Lafferty and Logan Farmer both had two hits. Eric Fosdick was the winning pitcher.
Harper Creek took control of the nightcap with five run outbursts in the second and third innings as winning pitcher Bobby Webb tossed a one-hitter in the five inning game.
The Coldwater JV baseball team swept their doubleheader at Harper Creek by the scores of 7-2 and 20-0. The JV team finished their season 17-10.
Larson Kever tossed a one-hitter and struck out 10 as the Union City Chargers defeated Mendon 11-0 at Alumni Field. Kever also drove in three runs while Connor Elgan and Brady Katz both had two RBI’s. Riley Rivard had three of the 12 Union City hits. Elgan and Zach Davis both had two hits.
Quincy split a Big 8 Conference doubleheader at Jonesville. The Comets won the opener 6-0. The Orioles took the nightcap 3-1. Trenton Adkins drove in two runs in the second game. Winning pitcher Caleb McCavit struck out nine in six innings of work.
