COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Downtown Development Authority Board is moving ahead with a program is hopes will stir business development, as it finalized parameters for a Façade Rebate Grant Program
The DDA board Wednesday morning committed funding to a revamped rebate program back in February as a way to stimulate façade improvements and maintenance work in the downtown area.
They later approved $30,000 for the program in their 2019-2020 budget.
Each applicant which takes advantage of the program will be able to get a rebate of 50 percent of project costs with a rebate limit of $5,000.
Economic Development Assistant Audrey Tappenden said Angola, Indiana and nine cities in Michigan were used for comparison, and Coldwater’s parameters fall in line with programs offered elsewhere.
