HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – Three records fell at the Interstate 8 Conference track and field meet at Hastings Tuesday. The Coldwater girls team of Kathy Potter, Carlee Crabtree, Tyler Scheid, Elka Machan won the 3200 Meter Relay, with their winning time of 9:53.14 setting a new conference record, breaking the record set by Jackson Lumen Christi of 10:02.30 set in 2016.
Elka Machan later won the 1600 Meter race in 5:10.36, breaking the conference record in that event set by Allison Rand of Jackson Lumen Christi when she ran 5:11.12 in 2018.
Machan then won the 3200 Meter race in 11:13.22, breaking her own conference record that she set last year when she won in 11:39.34.
Coldwater’s Dylan Targgart won the discus and shot put.
The Coldwater boys tied for fourth while the Coldwater girls finished second in the meet standings as Parma Western won both the boys and girls meets.
