QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Concord’s boys and Quincy’s girls won the team championships Wednesday night at the Big 8 Conference track meet hosted by Quincy.
Concord swept all four relay races as they won the boys meet with 118 points followed by Quincy with 95. Union City was seventh and Bronson was eighth. Quincy’s Ian Trall won the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles. Union City’s Gavin Hooker won the 100 and the 400.
Quincy won the girls meet with 155 points followed by Jonesville with 112 and Bronson with 100. Union City finished fifth. Quincy winners were Jessica Holcomb in the 100 and the long jump, Harmony Harpster in the 800, Madelyn Allman in the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles, Emily Hollenbaugh in the high jump and Makinzie Groves in the pole vault. Quincy won the 400, 800 and 1600 relays.
Bronson winners were Jenna Salek in the 200 and the 400, Xochitl Garcia in the 1600 and the 3200 and Madelyn Thompson in the discus, .
Boys Golf—
Union City’s Nolan Shaffer earned medalist honors Tuesday at the Big 8 Conference meet as he fired an 84. Shafer also earned All Conference Honors with his fifth place overall finish for the season. Concord finished first while Quincy was third, Union City fourth and Bronson was sixth.
Middle School Tennis—
The Legg Middle School tennis team closed out their 2019 campaign with a 4-4 deadlock with Harper Creek. Singles winners were Jillian Hawver , Eric Rucker, and Ella O’Grady while Claire Hawver and Emma Madden won at first doubles. Exhibition winners were Sam Larr and Cam Shilling, Garrett Gruner and Garrett Morrell, Hannah Fulk and Emma Frey along with Dakota Allen and Kylee Barnett.
