COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Power outages, downed power lines and trees blocking roads are the aftermath of a heavy thunderstorm that moved through Branch County beginning around 5:15 a.m. Thursday.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was in effect until 6:00 a.m.
After oorginally being delayed two hours, both the Coldwater and Quincy school districts, as well as St. Charles Borromeo School, the Branch Intermediate School District, and Pansophia Academy, cancelled classes for the day. Both Max Larsen Elementary and Lakeland Elementary were still without power mid-morning, as was St. Charles.. A large limb was across the driveway at Quincy High School
Other schools in the area, including Bronson, Burr Oak, and Colon were all on a two-hour delay Thursday because of the storm damage.
