ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Trine University has named Cisco Ortiz its new Dean of Students. The appointment is effective July 1, 2019.
Ortiz had served as chair of Trine’s Department of Criminal Justice and has been a full-time faculty member since 2015.
The Dean of Students at Trine is responsible for the administration of all programs related to meeting the social and developmental needs of the student body. The Dean also oversees various directors and services and is responsible for maintaining discipline and enforcing university rules.
Ortiz graduated from Trine in 1999 when it was known as Tri State University. Besides being a member of the Coldwater City Council since 2007, he has served as commander of the Steuben County Jail and an instructor for the Indiana Sheriff’s Association. He has also been a Steuben County reserve sheriff deputy since 2015.
