BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – You can own a piece of Bronson athletic history next week.
Bronson Community Schools will be giving away boards from the old gym bleachers next Wednesday, June 12 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the west end of the high school gym.
You have to provide your own labor to load and haul materials away.
While the lumber will be given out on a first come, first served basis; school officials reserve the right to ration the materials so that as many people as possible maybe served.
The new bleachers which are being put in this summer will be handicapped-accessible and are one of the final projects of the district’s first sinking fund. A second five-year sinking fund was passed by voters which will fund technology, security and facility upgrades.
As far as the old bleachers are concerned, Bronson Superintendent Richard Hilderly says, “This community has so many memories wrapped up in our gym – from classes to games to commencements. Much like the seats from Tiger Stadium, we wanted to give the public a chance to own a piece of Bronson High School nostalgia.”
