HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was ordered to pay nearly $60,000 in restitution Wednesday in Hillsdale County District Court after a swimming pool he installed in that county last year had to be torn out.
A court spokesperson says 47-year-old Kevin Boguth entered a guilty plea to being an unlicensed builder. Boguth was given a 40 day jail sentence with 30 days of the sentence being suspended.
Boguth was also placed on probation for two years and was told to pay $500 a month until the restitution is satisfied.
In another case involving a swimming pool Boguth installed, WWMT-TV reported last month that he entered a no contest plea in Calhoun County to being an unlicensed contractor and was told to pay $19,000 in restitution to a Marshall family.
