COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A small fire in the former Franklin School building on South Fremont Street was knocked down quickly by Coldwater firefighters Wednesday night.
Police and firefighters were dispatched to the closed school at about 8:15 p.m..
The fire was reported to be in a stairwell. Boards from windows and doors had to be removed so that the smoke from the fire could be ventilated out of the building.
No one was found inside the school after a search was conducted.
At last report, the fire was still under investigation.
