COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After several days of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 70’s, showers will continue through much of the day Thursday, along with breezy conditions. Wind gusts could be up to 30 miles per hour this afternoon in the Branch County area..
Meantime, the combination of strong winds, high waves, and well above normal water levels will result in areas of beach erosion and lakeshore flooding along Lake Michigan today. The National Weather Service says high waves and strong currents will also lead to dangerous swimming conditions and the high waves will wash over piers and jetties.
Temperatures in Branch County will remain cool today with highs only in the mid 50’s. Much nicer conditions are expected Friday, but additional showers and storms are expected tol arrive over the weekend.
