COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has launched a campaign called “Lock It Up” to protect kids and teenagers from marijuana, now that its medical and recreational use is legal in Michigan.
The agency has received a grant from the State of Michigan in order to buy lock boxes that wiull be available at no charge to the community.
The grant funds would also be used for educational materials.
The Community Health Agency. ordered 540 boxes for the three counties with the goal to be for adults to keep marijuana out of the hands of children.
Students in the three counties helped create some of the social media content for the campaign.
There are presently just under 3,000 medical marijuana licenses in Branch, Hillsdale and Saint Joseph Counties.
