COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education approved the hiring of Julie Farmer as the new principal at Max Larson Elementary School Monday night.
Farmer will take over for Shawn Caldwell, who is leaving the district after serving as the Max Larson Principal for the past two years. He thanked the district for the opportunity to serve as the school’s principal.
Farmer has a nearly 20 year career in education. She has been a facilitator with the Calhoun Intermediate School District for the last two years. Her husband Todd is the Athletic Director at Coldwater High School.
There were over a dozen applications for the job. Farmer was one of two finalists interviewed.
The board also approved an eight year lease agreement with the Branch Intermediate School District for their use of the Lincoln Learning Center at 70 Tibbits Street. In addition, the board approved a three year agreement with ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital for school based health nursing services.
