HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – A Reading Township woman who was charged in two counties following alleged incidents June 22 was booked on a warrant at the Hillsdale County Jail on Friday.
34-year-old Erin Nicole Peet is facing Hillsdale County charges of first degree home invasion and unlawful driving away of an auto. Charges of third degree fleeing from a police officer; assaulting, resisting and obstructing as well as receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle were filed against her in Branch County.
Coldwater Police said at the time of her arrest that Peet allegedly went into a man’s home in Allen Township where the occupant confronted her.
Authorities say she then spotted a set of car keys on a table, ran out of the house and allegedly stole the man’s 2016 Jeep Wrangler.
A police pursuit eventually took place. Officers reported a high rate of speed during the chase on the I-69 Business Loop. It ended when the vehicle being chased went of control on a curve and came to a stop on the lawn of a car repair business.
Bond for Peet in Hillsdale County has been set at $110,000 with ten percent allowed.
