COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two millage renewal questions for the Branch Area Transit Authority and 911 Central Dispatch are on Tuesday’s Branch County special elections ballot.
The 911 Central Dispatch renewal would be one mill for ten years starting with the tax levied in December of 2021. The millage will generate about $1.3 million for the 2021 tax year for the purpose of equipping and operating an enhanced 911 Central Dispatch service.
The ballot question calls for a renewal of the previously approved millage to cover enhanced 911 services.
The one mill covers a renewal of 0.8645 mills which expires with the 2020 tax levy and an increase of 0.1355 mills.
The BATA millage renewal, which is not to exceed .35 of one mill, would be for five years commencing with the 2020 tax levy. It would generate over $491,000 for the local transit system during the 2020 tax year.
