COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A pair of proposals in which both developers are seeking senior housing tax credits from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority are scheduled to come before the Coldwater Planning Commission August 19.
According to a published public notice, MVAH Partners of Butler County, Ohio is seeking a conditional rezoning of about 10 acres of land at 95 South Fremont Street, the site of the former Fremont School building, from A-1 One Family Residential to A-3 Multi Family Residential.
The developers are proposing to build 48 or fewer ground level senior apartments at that location. The rezoning request is contingent on the awarding of M.S.H.D.A. tax credits.
Meanwhile, another public notice indicates North Arrow Development, along with Francisco Hernandez and Rosa Bravo, will be asking for a Special Use Permit for a proposed multi-family senior residential development at 32 Railroad Street.
The two-story development would have 40 units on the site of the current Los Tequilas restaurant which will soon be relocating to the former Big Boy Restaurant on East Chicago.
M.S.H.D.A. is scheduled to award their next round of tax credits during the month of October.
