QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council formally accepted with regret the resignation of Eric Zuzga as Village Manager during a special meeting Tuesday night.
Zuzga will become the Special Projects Director for the City of Marshall August 26, 2019, but he plans to work part-time for the Village over the next few months as he will finish out a few projects and assisting where necessary.
For the interim period, Council President Karen Hargreave will coordinate activities with the Village’s Department heads.
The Council has asked for proposals from three search firms to assist in the search for a new manager. The proposals will be considered at their next meeting August 20, 2019.
Meanwhile, Russ Face was appointed to replace Zuzga as Street Administrator while Utilities Manager Jason Laney will become the new Village representative to the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance.
In other business, the Medical Marijuana Provisioning Center license for EAN Development north of McDonalds was revoked due to lack of any progress.
The Village Council also agreed to provide $3,000 in funding from its Brownfield Redevelopment Authority towards the cleanup of contamination found at the Quincy Event Center, which was a former gas station many decades ago.
