COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Democratic Party will hold its second annual picnic Wednesday, August 21 at the Coldwater Township Pavilion from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Supper will be served at 5:45 p.m. that evening. The family friendly event will be catered once again by Dickey’s BBQ and is free to the public, but donations are being encouraged.
Branch County Democratic Party Chair David McMillan says they instituted this event last year and had over 70 in attendance. He adds the purpose of the event is to thank members for their support during the past year and to introduce members of the community to the organization. McMillan says they informally refer to it as “Dems & friends of Dems” because they routinely have several other political parties represented.
In addition to the meal, there will be a 50/50 drawing and introductions of office holders and candidates from all political parties. 52nd District Democratic State Representative Donna Lasinski, who is the Democratic House Campaign Committee Chairperson, is also scheduled to deliver remarks.
