FREMONT TOWNSHIP, IN (WTVB) – The driver of a moped which was struck from behind by a car was injured Sunday night in a crash on State Road 120 near County Road 25 East in Steuben County.
Steuben County Sheriff Rodney Robinson says it happened just after 10:30 p.m.. He reports according to their preliminary crash investigation, a 2001 Chevy Malibu driven by 64-year-old Terri White of Fremont, Indiana was traveling west on 120 when her vehicle struck the back of a westbound moped driven by 28-year-old Emylee Fox of Hohenwald, Tennessee.
According to Robinson, the moped did not have an operating tail light or head light. Fox was flown from the scene to a Fort Wayne hospital by the Samaritan helicopter due to possible head and neck injuries.
Fox was not wearing a helmet and the crash remains under investigation.
The Fremont Fire Department and Steuben County EMS assisted the Sheriff’s Office.
