JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater couple continues to recover from their injuries following a three vehicle accident last Thursday afternoon at a Jackson County intersection.
The accident took the lives of 84-year-old Harold John Ashdown and his 81-year-old wife Marilyn Jill Ashdown.
They were back seat passengers in a 2016 Cadillac ATS which was driven by 53-year-old Mike Renshaw. His 53-year-old wife Lisa, the daughter of the Ashdowns, was a front seat passenger.
A 2008 Saturn traveling south on Sandstone Road entered the intersection and struck the westbound Cadillac, forcing the rear of the vehicle into the eastbound lane of King Road.
The Cadillac was then struck by an eastbound Ford Explorer.
The Renshaws were both taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Health.
Mike Renshaw has been released, but at last report, Lisa Renshaw is still hospitalized.
The crash, which took place on King Road at Sandstone Road in Spring Arbor Township, is still under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
