SCIPIO TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – One person was injured while another was arrested following a stabbing incident during a domestic dispute near Jonesville Thursday.
The Michigan State Police at Jackson report the felonious assault took place at a residence on Borden Road and involved two family members.
Troopers were initially dispatched on a report of an accidental stabbing.
Further investigation found that two family members had been involved in a domestic violence situation and one of the subjects was stabbed or slashed with a box cutter.
The injured person was taken to the Hillsdale Community Health Center with a severe, complex laceration and internal injuries.
The suspect, who was identified by the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department booking list as a 36-year-old man, was arrested and lodged without bond at the Hillsdale County Jail. He was booked for aggravated domestic violence, assault with intent to do great bodily harm and a parole violation.
