HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – A 64-year-old man is being held without bond in Hillsdale County after he allegedly tried to stab a Hillsdale Police officer Friday morning.
The Hillsdale Daily News reports Jay Carroll was formally arraigned on Friday afternoon after Hillsdale Police Chief Scott Hephner says the suspect allegedly lunged at the officer with a knife.
The officer was sitting in his patrol vehicle just after 6:00 a.m. when the attack took place near Hillsdale City Hall.
Carroll was taken into custody by the officer he allegedly attacked. He was booked for assault with intent to murder a police officer.
The officer was not injured.
