Harold E. Vrooman, 86, of Coldwater, passed away on
Thursday, August 22, 2019 surrounded by his family at home.
Per Harold’s request cremation has taken place. The family
is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
He was born on September 15, 1932 to Roy and Myrtle (Chase)
Vrooman in Jonesville. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School. Harold
entered the United States Air Force on March 12, 1951 and was honorably
discharged on March 11, 1955 having attained the rank of S/Sgt. He received the
National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal
Harold married Ruth A. Windle on November 4, 1961 in
Jonesville. He started his career as an apprentice die maker with Allied
Products in Hillsdale. Harold retired from General Motors in Kalamazoo in 1993
after 27 years as a die maker. He enjoyed golfing, camping and playing country
music with his guitar.
Harold is survived by his wife of 57 years Ruth; his
children, Fred (Pam) Miller of Reading, Scott (Sherry) Miller of Murfreesboro,
Tennessee, Brian (Virginia) Vrooman of Kalamazoo, Vicky Koehlke of Winter
Haven, Florida and Karen Lotts of White Lake; his 12 grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren; and his siblings, Phyllis Spears of Jonesville and Gordon
(Dorothy) Vrooman of Wilmington, Delaware. He was preceded in death by his
parents and his sister Shirley Goetz.
