ADRIAN, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School’s cross country teams opened their season Thursday at the annual Bert Cebulski Invitational held in Adrian’s rustic Heritage Park.
Elka Machan, Carolyn Potter and Cece DeWitt all were among the top 20 medal winners in the girls race with Machan easily winning the gold medal with a first place time of 19:19.8. Potter was 16th while DeWitt was 20th.
The Coldwater girls finished fifth as a team in the eight-team field with Tecumseh taking first.
The Coldwater’s boys do not have enough runners yet to field a full team but co-captain Kyle Foulk earned a fourth place medal with a time of 17:38.3 despite injuring himself during the race. Myron Lafty was 24th.
Adrian High School easily won the boy’s meet.
