GIRARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police say an elderly man who was flown out following an accident Friday afternoon on Gorbell Road later died from his injuries at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
State Police say the unidentified man was traveling north on Gorbell near Bidwell Road when his Chrysler 200 failed to navigate a 90 degree right turn at about 3:30 p.m..
The vehicle then drove straight through the curve and into a ditch before it hit a tree head on.
The driver was found entrapped inside of the vehicle and had to be freed by the Coldwater Fire Department.
State Police say the man suffered multiple serious injuries.
Also assisting at the scene were Life Care Ambulance, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and West Michigan Aircare.
