HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – A 37-year-old Jonesville man was being held without bond in the Hillsdale County Jail on Monday following a Sunday night domestic dispute and rampage at his home on East Mosherville Road.
The man was booked on five counts of domestic assault, two counts of second degree child abuse, two counts of child abuse in front of a child, assault by strangulation for allegedly choking his wife and defacing a human body.
Sheriff Tim Parker told the Hillsdale Daily News that during the domestic dispute, a urn containing the ashes of the couple’s late son fell off a shelf and broke.
Parker also reported the suspect had been drinking before the fight.
An arraignment was scheduled for Monday afternoon in Hillsdale County District Court.
