COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Superintendent Terry Whelan told the Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education Monday night that thanks to an increase in kindergarten students, they will be adding another section and have posted the teaching position.
Whelan said the district has 235 kindergarten students this year compared to 194 last year. The young fives are about the same with 59 enrolled this year compared to 60 last year.)
During a relatively light agenda, the Board of Education approved a pair of wage and benefit amendments for the 2019-2020 fiscal year on Monday night.
Members in both the Coldwater Education Association and the Coldwater Education Support Personnel Association will get two percent pay increases for this school year. Non members of CESPA were given the same pay adjustment two weeks ago.
The amendments were part of current contract agreements that run through June 2021.
