COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It was indicated during Wednesday’s Coldwater Downtown Development Authority meeting that there could be official announcements concerning new business or businesses over the next couple of weeks.
Branch County Economic Growth Alliance Executive Director Lisa Miller did not go into details but said they were hoping to issue two press releases on projects and told DDA members to “stay tuned.”
Consultant Tim Hart reported that it be a year before a business they recently signed will be ready to open.
He declined to release information on the business before it goes to the Coldwater City Council.
Hart said they have targeted a variety of businesses during their recruiting including brew pubs, restaurants, tap rooms, retail clothing outlets, retail unique gifts, high end cigar bars and bakeries.
Hart added they have shown the former Wilbur’s Furniture building 11 times and there has been interest in the Kerr Building. He estimated they have conducted nearly 40 showings in the downtown area.
