HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Three people, including two Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department deputies, were injured Wednesday night in a two vehicle crash involving a department patrol car south of Hillsdale.
The Michigan State Police at Jackson reports the crash happened just after 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of South Hillsdale Road and Bear Lake Road.
Both of the deputies were riding in the same patrol vehicle.
One deputy was treated and released from Hillsdale Hospital for minor injuries.
The second deputy was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash was flown by West Michigan Air Care to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
The names of those involved in the crash as well as the circumstances surrounding it have not been released. The State Police says alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash which is still under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were the Hillsdale Township Fire Department, the Hillsdale City Fire Department, the Reading Fire Department, Reading EMS, Waldron EMS, Hudson EMS, the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office, Parkview Samaritan helicopter and West Michigan AirCare.
