COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater Planning Commission is scheduled to go over a site plan for a proposed senior independent living development that would be located on the property of the former Fremont School building at 95 South Fremont on Tuesday evening.
The Planning Commission voted 9-0 to approve a conditional rezoning of nine-and-a-quarter acres of land two weeks ago from A-1 One Family Residential to A-3 Multi Family Residential.
MVAH Partners of Butler County, Ohio is proposing up to 48 senior independent living units that would be for persons 55 years and older. Plans call for the units will include a mix of one and two bedroom ranch villas.
The development will also include a clubhouse with on‐site management, a community room, fitness center, and outdoor recreation space.
Developers say about half of the site will remain open space and will be offered to the city for park expansion if desired.
