BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – A former K9 with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department has passed away.
The department announced the passing of retired K9 Turbo Thursday.
K9 Turbo was with his partner, family, and many of his coworkers when he passed.
Deputy Guy Picketts was K9 Turbo’s partner from December 2007 until June 2016. They worked together at the Springfield Department of Public Safety in 2007.
They transitioned to the Sheriff’s Department in 2013.
The Sheriff’s Department says K9 Turbo had a stellar career in law enforcement.
He was also very popular within Calhoun County schools as Picketts and K9 Turbo conducted hundreds of demonstrations.
K9 Turbo spent the last three years retired at home with his partner and his family.
