BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Fire Department has announced they have received funds that were donated in the memory of James “Jim” Patrick Eley. Officials say the funds will be used to purchase safety equipment for the department.
Eley passed away this past June at the age of 78.
He moved to Coldwater in 1974 and joined the law Office of Richard F. Baker- Public Defender and General Practice. They purchased an office building in Bronson in 1975 as Baker & Eley Attorneys at Law General Partnership. He then became sole practitioner in 1979.
Eley served as Bronson City Attorney from 1976 until 2011 and was the Village of Quincy Attorney from 1980 until 1985. He officially retired in 2016.
Eley was also the Past President of the Bronson Rotary and received the Rotarian Paul Harris Fellow Award.
