QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Orioles got their first victory of the season as they defeated Branch County rival Bronson 26-7. Quincy had 401 yards of total offense including 338 on the ground. The Orioles defense also forced five turnovers with Kyler Economou recovering three fumbles. Quincy’s Evan Coon rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns while Chandler Locke had 113 yards rushing and two scores. Bronson’s Bryant Anthony rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown. Logan Fletcher and Justin Blankenship both had 17 tackles for the Vikings. Quincy is now 1-1 while the Vikings fall to 0-2.
And Union City lost their homecoming game and Big 8 Conference opener to Springport 48-14 at Alumni Field. Garrett Iobe rushed for 95 points and two touchdowns for Union City. The Chargers are now 0-2.
