BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School varsity volleyball team finished seventh out of 20 teams Saturday at the Cereal City Invitational hosted by Battle Creek Lakeview.
The Cardinals went 2-1 in their pool and finished second. They defeated Battle Creek Central 25-15, 25-25-12) and Delton Kellogg (25-19, 25-17) but lost to Bedford (16-25, 13-25).
As the seventh seed in the gold bracket, they lost to second seeded Traverse City Central in the quarterfinals 19-25, 15-25.
Olivia Foley had 45 assists, 25 digs, 20 kills and five aces for the Cardinals. Abby Herman led in kills with 24 and in digs with 26. Maddie Beckhusen had 22 digs while Laynee Paarlberg had 27 assists, 16 kills and 19 digs.
Coldwater’s record is now 9-6.
