COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Kentucky man who entered guilty pleas to three counts of motor vehicle theft/unlawful driving away was ordered to serve a sentence of between 18 months and five years on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
38-year-old Andrew Hamlin of Franklin, Kentucky was given credit for 191 days already served in the Branch County Jail.
A fourth charge was dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for the guilty pleas.
All of the sentences will run concurrently. Hamlin formerly lived in Coldwater. He will also have to pay $460 in restitution.
Court records indicate the crimes happened between December 10, 2018 and February 13, 2019.
Hamlin had been sought by Coldwater Police after they got numerous stolen vehicle complaints.
Police said at the time Hamlin was captured that they had received an overwhelming response from citizens after the department issued a wanted poster of him on social media and in local media outlets.
